Ski Season to Start Before End of Week
Multiple areas have fired up snowmaking and plan to open soon.

Killington snowmaking, 11/7/2017

The ski season is about to start in New England, as seasonable temperatures have finally arrived in the region.

Sunday River has announced upper Locke Mountain will be "opening by this weekend." Since 2007, opening day at the Maine resort has ranged from October 14 to November 23.

Killington is currently making snow on Superstar and North Ridge. As of Tuesday morning, no opening day information has been released. Since 2007, opening day has ranged from October 13 to November 16.

Peak Resorts has announced Wildcat and Mount Snow will be opening on Saturday.

Other areas, such as Sugarbush and Stowe, have fired up snowguns recently, but are not expected to open within the week.
