Hermon Mountain, a small ski area located just outside of Bangor, is on the market.
According to 95.7 FM Bangor, Bill and Marlene Whitcomb listed the area for sale because they are looking to retire after nearly 35 years of ownership. Investments during their tenure included the installation of a refurbished double chairlift (formerly located at Shawnee Peak), major snowmaking upgrades, developing snow tubing, and base lodge improvements.
The 67.5 acre ski area is listed with The Masiello Group for $5,000,000.
The ski area dates back to the mid-1960s, when it opened with rope tow service. A T-Bar was installed in 1966. The area advertises a 350 foot vertical drop and typically has a mid-December to late-March ski season.
