Pats Peak will be constructing a 21-million-gallon snowmaking reservoir on its summit this summer, further improving the area's powerful system.
The area's summit electrical capacity will also be tripled, facilitating additional fan guns and the addition of 3,000 gallons per minute of pumps. With the expansion, the area's pumping capacity will reach 8,000 gallons per minute, doubling its operating ability to 200 snow guns.
Traditionally one of the first ski areas in New England to open 100% of its terrain, Pats Peak expects to reach this mark in half the operating time.
The project is part of a $10 million, half-decade-long series of investments, including a base lodge expansion, a new maintenance garage, and this year's Hurricane Quad.
General manager Kris Blomback noted, "Snowmaking is a big part of what sets Pats Peak apart, and we think you will really notice this significant new improvement."
Located west of Concord, New Hampshire, Pats Peak remains under the ownership of its original developer, the Patenaude family. The 770 feet ski area is served by a fixed grip quad, three triples, and two double chairlifts.
