Continuing its long-running practice of steady investment into the mountain, Pats Peak announced today that it will be installing its first quad chairlift in time for the 2025-26 season.
The Hurricane Triple
The Hurricane Quad will replace the area's first triple chairlift, the 1977 Borvig Hurricane Triple. Construction started in 2024 with the pouring of tower footings and will continue with the removal of the outgoing chairlift this spring. Chairs will be offered for sale with priority for charities and season passholders.

The new lift will be designed by SkyTrac and installed by Pfister Mountain Services and Phoenix Excavation. The lift will include a new SkyTrac base terminal and Garaventa CTEC line gear from the former Lake Compounce chairlift. A loading carpet will be installed to allow it to run faster than a traditional fixed grip quad, while the base and summit terminal areas will be redesigned for easier access.
The chairlift is Pats Peak's third installation in the past dozen years, following 2013's Cascade Basin Triple and 2017's Peak Triple. Other major projects in recent years include a base lodge expansion, a new maintenance building, and significant snowmaking improvements.
General manager Kris Blomback declared, "This new lift is an exciting step forward for Pats Peak. We are dedicated to continuous improvements that enhance the skiing and riding experience for all of our guests, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to enjoy the benefits of this new quad next season."
