The New England lodge boom continues, as Cranmore has recently announced Phase 3 of its base area development plan.

Named after the ownership, the Fairbank Lodge will include two floors of skier services and two floors of condominiums. Part of Kearsarge Brook II, the fifteen condominiums will be two stories each. Ground was broken for Kearsarge Brook I in 2016, which was completed in two phases.

Ground is expected to be broken in the spring of 2022 for Phase 3. 18,000 square feet of skier facilities are expected to be completed first, in time for the 2022-23 season, including "a seasonal locker room for the public, a private locker room for residents, base lodge space, restrooms, ski accessory shop, food pavilion, coffee bar, and a slope-side bar with an expansive slope-side deck." The building was designed by Bull Stockwell Allen.

Located in North Conway, Cranmore has been in operation since the 1937-38 season. The current redevelopment of Cranmore dates back to June 15, 2010, when Booth Creek sold Cranmore to Brian Fairbank, Tyler Fairbank, and Joseph O'Donnell, the operators of Jiminy Peak in Massachusetts. Since taking over the mountain, the Fairbank Group has replaced two chairlifts, relocated one chairlift, expanded snowmaking, added more off-season attractions, and constructed new base area buildings (including dozens of new condominiums).

Recently constructed new lodges include the Carinthia lodge at Mt. Snow, the summit lodge at Bretton Woods and the base lodge at Catamount. Bousquet is expected to complete a new base lodge this summer, while Saddleback is hoping to build a mid-mountain lodge. Killington's multi-year base lodge project is expected to be completed for the 2022-23 season.
