Mad River Glen Cooperative's holdings may soon grow by 1,100 acres if funding is procured for a proposed acquisition.
Located immediately to the south of the ski area, as well as across the road, the property is owned by Lyme Mill Brook LLC and has conservation status. With the land hosting popular sidecountry areas known as the 19th Hole and 20th Hole, the cooperative's board of directors voted to move forward with fundraising on November 10. As of today, $588,000 of the $2.5 million purchase price has been raised. A deadline of January 15, 2026 has been set.
According to the cooperative, the purchase "secures full control, preserving autonomy " while ensuring "continued recreational access and stewardship flexibility."
