Sugarbush North may have an expanded base lodge next season, as a Vermont Act 250 application was filed this week.

Located on the north side of the existing structure, the $2 million project is a partnership between Sugarbush and Vermont Adaptive. Jeffrey Dunham is the architect for the addition to the 1963 Glen Ellen base lodge.

The slopeside portion of the addition will be occupied by Vermont Adaptive's office and program space. The parking lot side of the addition will be for general Sugarbush use. New public restrooms will be constructed on the main and upper floors of the addition, while the top floor will feature a slopeside deck for the public.

If approved, construction is expected to take 8 months for a planned 2020-21 opening.
