Mt. Abram Constructing Solar Farm
245 KW installation could go online this fall.

One year after being awarded a USDA Rural Energy for America Program grant, Mt. Abram has begun construction on a 245 kilowatt solar farm.

The 803 panel photovoltaic solar installation is expected to offset 70% of Mt. Abram's energy usage over the course of a year.

A mid-sized ski area located near Sunday River, Mt. Abram struggled through multiple foreclosures in the 1990s and 2000s. Matt Hancock and Rob Lally purchased the ski area in 2008 and brought in Mountain Rider's Alliance to transform operations in 2013.

There will be a commissioning ceremony on November 6, 2014 at 11 AM.
