Longtime Cannon Mountain General Manager John DeVivo has announced his departure, effective August 31.

In a letter issued yesterday, DeVivo announced he will be taking a leadership position at Antelope Butte Mountain Recreation Area in Wyoming. The non-profit ski area has been searching for a new general manager.

DeVivo has been General Manager at Cannon Mountain since the summer of 2007. Prior to Cannon, DeVivo was Vice President of Mountain Operations at Attitash and a manager in the marketing department at Sunday River.

The announcement comes just weeks after Governor Sununu approved $18 million from the state general fund "for the maintenance and operation of the tramway at Cannon Mountain" as part of the biennial budget.

The State of New Hampshire has not announced its future plans for the role at Cannon Mountain.
