In its first new lift project since 2012, Bretton Woods is proposing to install a signature lift for the 2018-19 season, providing four season access to a new restaurant.

According to InDepthNH, Director of Ski Operations Chris Ellms presented initial plans for the estimated $15 million project to the Bethlehem Planning Board last night. The new lift would debut in 2018, while the new restaurant would open in the summer of 2019.

According to InDepthNH, the new 8 passenger gondola line would start in the base area, cross over the Bethlehem Quad, and terminate at the top of Fabyan's Triple (which would be slightly truncated). The new gondola would be the third enclosed ski lift in New Hampshire and the fifth in New England to feature 8 passenger cabins. The lift would be roughly 6,000 feet long, climbing 1,300 vertical feet, terminating about 100 feet below the summit of Mt. Rosebrook.

The new two story facility atop the lift would feature 285 seats and would be available for wedding functions. It is not known if the nearby Latitude 44 Restaurant would be impacted.

The newest major ski area in New England, Bretton Woods debuted in December 1973. Omni Hotels & Resorts purchased the resort in 2015 after leasing it for 6 years from CNL Lifestyle Properties.
